After a career as a communications expert in Chicago...

I retired with my husband to the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. We got a dog, Buddy. And I returned to my first love--writing fiction.

I recently completed my first novel, inspired by a shipwreck that took place near Point Betsie lighthouse in northern Michigan in 1880. It’s called Under Point Betsie’s Light and I’m searching for a publisher, who may be me. We’ll see.

Of my short fiction, “The Rhubarb” was a finalist in the Doris Betts fiction contest of the North Carolina Literary Review. Another short story, “Make a Joyful Noise,” was published in the literary magazine Fresh.

I am president of the Mountain Writers of North Carolina, a group that meets monthly in Waynesville.

In a previous life I started DataDriven MarCom, Inc. to help B2B marketers measure the effectiveness of their communications. Before that, I founded one of the first integrated marketing communication firms, Elrick Business Communications, Inc.

I have written numerous articles about integrated marketing communication, measurement and branding, and my book, The Truth About B2B Marketing ROI, was published by the International Association of Business Communicators. It is available on Amazon.com.
